Marriott International has opened the JW Marriott Hotel Tashkent, marking the debut of its JW Marriott brand in Uzbekistan. The 287-room property is located in Tashkent City, the capital’s business district, and forms part of the Tashkent City Mall complex.
The opening introduces the luxury brand to a market that has drawn increasing attention from international operators as Uzbekistan expands its tourism offer beyond its Silk Road heritage. The hotel sits within walking distance of Tashkent City Park and is positioned to serve both corporate and leisure travellers.
Agnieszka Róg-Skrzyniarz, Head of Luxury Brands Europe at Marriott International, said the property aims to introduce the brand’s philosophy centred on mindfulness and considered design to the country. She pointed to Uzbekistan’s tourism prospects, citing the UNESCO-listed cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva alongside economic growth as drivers of demand.
The hotel features 287 guest rooms, including 42 suites and three presidential suites, all with views across the city skyline. Interiors draw on Uzbek architectural motifs, while guest programming includes traditional tea rituals served in line with local custom.
Food and beverage outlets include ELYO Restaurant & Terrace with an East Mediterranean menu, JW Market and the ORO Pool Bar. Executive Chef Martin Repetto leads the culinary team, bringing experience from postings across Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean. In 2026, the hotel plans to open a rooftop venue on the 28th floor, NODO East Mediterranean Restaurant, alongside the brand’s JW Garden concept, incorporating an Uzbek-style tapchan seating area.
Wellness facilities include La Vallée SPA, developed in partnership with La Vallée Switzerland. The spa includes the city’s first open-air infinity pool overlooking Tashkent City Park, an indoor pool and fitness centre. Treatments incorporate locally sourced ingredients such as pomegranate and thyme.
An Executive Lounge provides dedicated services and dining throughout the day. The hotel also offers more than 1,200 square metres of meeting and event space, targeting conferences and corporate gatherings in the capital.
Ilkin Imanov, General Manager of JW Marriott Hotel Tashkent, said the property aims to deliver service aligned with the brand’s standards while supporting the development of local hospitality talent in Uzbekistan.
