Uzbekistan Airways launches twice-weekly service to Atyrau, Kazakhstan

Uzbekistan Airways has begun operating direct flights between Tashkent and Atyrau in western Kazakhstan, adding a new route to its regional network,

The service operates twice a week using Airbus A320 aircraft. The first flights on the Tashkent-Atyrau-Tashkent route were scheduled for March 30 and April 3.

The launch follows talks between aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan held on August 14, 2025, during which the two sides agreed to expand the legal framework for operating international flights between the countries.

Atyrau, located in Kazakhstan’s western region near the Caspian Sea, is a significant industrial hub with strong ties to the oil and gas sector, drawing frequent business travellers from neighbouring countries.

Representatives of Uzbekistan Airways and Asialuxe Travel briefed participants at a launch presentation on tourism packages to Uzbekistan, medical tourism options, and transit travel. Special attention was given to Uzbekistan’s gastronomic tourism potential, which has been gaining growing international recognition. Kun.uz

Kazakhstan’s Transport Ministry said the new service is expected to bolster business connections and trade, economic, and tourism collaboration between the two countries, and that it continues efforts to expand the geography of international air routes and increase frequencies to existing destinations
