Armenia’s Shirak Avia will start weekly direct flights between Yerevan and Tashkent from June 2, opening a new air corridor between the South Caucasus and Central Asia and giving trade buyers a fresh route option for Silk Road and inter-CIS itineraries.
The carrier will operate the route on Tuesdays, Armenia International Airports CJSC, the operator of Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport, said in a notice carried by News.am on April 27.
For DMOs, tour operators and corporate travel managers tracking the broader Silk Road and Caucasus-Central Asia connectivity build-out, the launch is a notable supply-side addition. Direct services between the two capitals have historically been thin, with most travel routing via Moscow, Istanbul or Dubai.
The single weekly frequency is calibrated for a market entry phase, with scope for additional rotations if loads support expansion. Trade buyers should track schedule confirmations and equipment selection ahead of the June launch.
Tickets and operational details are available via the Shirak Avia website and through local travel agencies.
