Hong Kong Airlines relocated its check-in counters to Terminal 2 at Hong Kong International Airport from 04:00 on May 27, the carrier said.
The counters are located at Aisle Q, with self-service facilities available at Aisle R and other aisles. Counters open three hours before the first flight of the day and close 60 minutes before the last scheduled departure. Boarding gates close 20 minutes before departure.
Passengers checking in between 05:30 and 00:15 can clear security and immigration at Terminal 2 before taking the Automated People Mover to the Midfield Concourse of Terminal 1 for boarding. Those checking in between 00:15 and 05:15 must go to Terminal 1 for security and immigration before continuing to the Midfield Concourse. The walk from Terminal 2 to the Terminal 1 departures hall takes 15 to 20 minutes.
The carrier said the full journey from the Terminal 2 counters to the boarding gate takes about 30 minutes, including security, immigration and the people-mover transit. All boarding gates remain in Terminal 1.
Passengers who have completed online or mobile check-in without checked baggage can proceed directly to Terminal 1 for departure, provided they hold an e-boarding pass or QR code.
For flights departing in the early hours of May 27, passengers arriving before 01:50 were directed to Aisle K at Terminal 1, while those arriving at or after 04:00 use Aisle Q at Terminal 2. In-town check-in remains available from 24 hours before departure.
Passengers requiring carriage of sports equipment or medical devices, or special assistance such as wheelchair service, can pre-advise at least 72 hours before departure, the carrier said. Those travelling with such requirements are advised to arrive at Terminal 2 at least 120 minutes before departure.
