Alaska Airlines has appointed Amaresh Siva as chief information technology officer, creating a role that brings its technology and digital operations under one executive, the carrier said on October 19.
Siva will join in November, report directly to chief executive Ben Minicucci and sit on Alaska’s executive committee.
His remit covers enterprise technology, data, digital services, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Alaska said he will strengthen core systems and develop platforms to support operational reliability and long-term growth.
Siva joins from CVS Health, where he most recently served as chief digital and technology officer for healthcare delivery. He also oversaw enterprise data and AI platforms and innovation labs.
His work at CVS included cloud migration, digital engineering and the deployment of AI tools. He brings 29 years of experience across healthcare, retail and consumer finance.
Previously, Siva held senior technology roles at Target, helping rebuild its website and app and modernise its infrastructure. He also spent nearly a decade at GE Capital, developing marketing technology for businesses in 17 countries.
Minicucci said the appointment would support more secure and resilient platforms for customers and employees. Alaska did not disclose a budget or timetable for specific technology projects.
The appointment comes as travel companies expand their use of data and AI, including ALTOUR’s recently launched iQ corporate travel platform.
Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air are subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group. The group’s airlines serve more than 140 destinations across North America, Latin America, Asia, the Pacific and Europe.
