Centrum Air will launch scheduled flights between Tashkent and Hyderabad from September 28, making Hyderabad the Uzbek carrier’s second gateway in India after Delhi, Travel Trade Journal reported.
The twice-weekly service will operate on an Airbus A320neo, offering direct access to Uzbekistan’s capital along with onward connections through Centrum Air’s Tashkent hub to destinations across Central Asia, the CIS, the Middle East and Europe. Flight C6 551 will operate from Tashkent to Hyderabad on Mondays and Thursdays, departing at 21:30 and arriving the following day at 02:20. The return service, C6 552, will operate from Hyderabad to Tashkent on Tuesdays and Fridays, departing at 03:35 and arriving at 07:45.
Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, founder and chief executive officer of Centrum Air, said the new route marks “an important addition to Centrum Air’s India network,” Travel Trade Journal reported, adding that Hyderabad offers strong potential across tourism, student, visiting-friends-and-relatives and onward international travel segments.
Abhishek Goyal, executive director and chief executive officer of Aeroprime Group, Centrum Air’s India market partner, said opening a new station involves building the surrounding market as well as launching the route itself, pointing to Aeroprime’s role in distribution, travel-trade engagement and market activation for the airline in India.
The new route takes Centrum Air to seven weekly frequencies into India, five to Delhi and two to Hyderabad, expanding the airline’s Indian network within a year of its initial Delhi launch. Ahead of the new service, Centrum Air held a networking event at The Leela in Hyderabad, bringing together representatives from the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee, Aeroprime Group and local travel trade stakeholders. Flights are expected to open for sale shortly through Centrum Air and travel-trade distribution channels, including Amadeus.
