Cloudbeds will connect hotels using its software to Meta Platforms’ (NASDAQ:META) AI agent Muse, routing bookings through properties’ own booking engines, it said on October 20.
The move puts the San Diego-based software provider in direct competition with online travel agencies for hotel bookings made through AI agents. Expedia said in late September it would let travellers book hotels through Muse, a route that keeps the agency between guest and property. Cloudbeds’ model sends the booking to the hotel itself, as one Spanish tour operator reports a 400% jump in AI-generated itinerary requests and technology vendors compete to keep hotel booking engines at the centre of the transaction.
Participating properties will appear in Muse with live rates, availability and policies. Guests complete the booking through the hotel’s Cloudbeds Booking Engine, and the reservation flows into the Cloudbeds property management system as a direct booking. Hotels will not need a separate integration or a new system to connect.
“Every time travel discovery shifts, metasearch, mobile, now AI agents, the industry’s reflex is to let someone else own the guest and charge the hotelier for the privilege. We’re not doing that again,” Cloudbeds CEO Adam Harris said. “When an agent finds a property that runs on Cloudbeds, the booking lands where it belongs: in the hotelier’s own system, as a direct booking, with the guest relationship intact.”
Meta launched Muse in September as a personal AI agent that plans trips, compares options and completes bookings. The agent already reaches live flight inventory, while hotel discovery has so far relied on browsing consumer travel websites, according to Cloudbeds.
The integration will begin rolling out to Cloudbeds customers in the US in the first quarter of 2027 as part of the company’s Digital Marketing solutions.
Founded in 2012, Cloudbeds sells a cloud-based hospitality management system combining property management, booking engine, channel management and revenue tools. It serves tens of thousands of properties in more than 150 countries.
