Emirates has launched daily flights between Dubai and Helsinki, operating the route year-round with the Airbus A350-900 from 1 October.

The service connects Finland with the carrier’s network through Dubai to Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, giving Finnish agents a one-stop option to long-haul markets and Dubai-based operators a new Nordic gateway.

Flight EK167 operates from Dubai with a 298-seat aircraft across business, premium economy and economy. The belly hold can carry up to 16 tonnes of cargo per flight. Onboard menus include Finnish-inspired dishes such as juniper-marinated salmon and lingonberry cheesecake.

The inaugural flight carried government officials, business delegates and media. Finnish Ambassador Tuula Yrjola and UAE Assistant Minister Mohamed Rashid bin Taliah were among the passengers, and Emirates was led by Deputy President Adnan Kazim and SkyCargo senior vice president Jeffrey Van Haeften.

Emirates is among the Gulf carriers extending its network as capacity returns; see our report on flydubai’s first scheduled route to Nepal.

Details are from Aviation A2Z; we have not seen the Emirates release itself.
