LATAM Airlines Brazil, part of LATAM Airlines Group (NYSE:LTM), has taken delivery of its first Embraer (B3:EMBR3) E195-E2, the first of 24 firm-ordered jets it will use to add smaller Brazilian cities to its network, the companies said on October 8.
The 136-seat jet gives LATAM an aircraft sized for thinner domestic routes. The airline plans to fly the E2 on 42 routes, including eight new connections and four new destinations: Macaé, Cabo Frio, Rondonópolis and Ji-Paraná. Brazil’s airport sector is also changing hands, with Mexico’s ASUR buying Motiva’s airports in Brazil and three other countries.
“We chose the E195-E2 with a clear objective: to continue expanding LATAM’s presence in Brazil sustainably,” said Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil.
LATAM expects 12 E2s by the end of 2026 and holds 50 purchase options on top of its firm order, placed in 2025. The aircraft has 136 seats in a two-by-two layout split between premium economy and economy.
The jet will enter service between November 2026 and March 2027, once its interior is approved, Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) completes certification and it clears customs.
“It is rewarding to see the E195-E2 helping to connect new destinations,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of Embraer.
LATAM Airlines Group is Latin America’s largest airline group, with operations in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. Embraer is based in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
