SalamAir has signed a distribution agreement with Amadeus to expand its international sales reach, the travel technology company said on October 20.
The deal will give travel sellers connected to the Amadeus Travel Platform access to the Omani low-cost carrier’s fares and services.
SalamAir aims to diversify its sales channels and reach more customers as it develops its international network. The announcement did not disclose financial terms or a timetable for implementation.
Steven Allen, SalamAir’s chief commercial officer, said wider distribution would support the airline’s growth plans and improve access to its products across international markets.
Maher Koubaa, Amadeus’ executive vice-president for its travel unit and managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said the agreement would help the carrier compete internationally.
The SalamAir agreement follows separate efforts to widen Oman’s international air connections. Oman Air recently signed a codeshare with Finnair, linking passengers with Helsinki through European gateways and Melbourne through Bangkok.
That partnership concerns flight connections, while SalamAir’s announcement expands the channels through which travel agents can access its products.
