Scoot adds Indonesia routes to Belitung and Pontianak

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (C6L.SI), will launch direct services from Singapore to two new Indonesian destinations, Belitung and Pontianak, from May and June 2026 respectively, the carrier announced on April 9.

Twice-weekly flights to Belitung will begin on May 3, with three-times-weekly services to Pontianak following from June 29. Both routes will be operated by the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft.

One-way economy fares start from SGD99 (USD74) to Belitung and SGD129 (USD96) to Pontianak, inclusive of taxes.

Belitung, on the eastern coast of Sumatra, is known for its geological formations, rich biodiversity and pristine coastlines, and is home to the Belitung Tarsier, a nocturnal primate subspecies unique to the island. Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan, sits directly on the equator and is home to the Equator Monument, set along Indonesia’s longest river, the Kapuas.

With the two additions, Scoot’s network grows to 85 destinations across 18 countries and territories.

The carrier is also increasing frequencies across several existing routes. Services to Phuket will rise from 17 to 21 weekly flights from April 2026, while flights to Bali and Jakarta will increase from 28 to 35 weekly services from June. Lombok will grow from four to 10 weekly flights, Labuan Bajo from two to three, and Manado will move to daily service. In North Asia, Okinawa will increase from three to four weekly flights and Changsha from four to five. Vienna will also see a rise from three to four weekly services from June.

“The addition of new routes to Belitung and Pontianak not only enhances Scoot’s footprint in Indonesia, but also strengthens the SIA Group’s network connectivity through Singapore,” said Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer of Scoot. “We remain committed to providing our customers with more travel options and enjoyable journeys with Scoot.” Travel Daily News
