The Kayon Hotels & Resorts has opened The Kayon Gangga Resort in Ababi, Karangasem, adding a new luxury property in East Bali close to Tirta Gangga Water Palace.

The resort is positioned around Balinese culture, dining and wellness, with experiences grouped under celebrations, local heritage, adventure and wellness. The opening expands The Kayon’s Bali portfolio beyond Ubud, where it already operates The Kayon Resort, The Kayon Jungle Resort and The Kayon Valley Resort.

Dining is a central part of the offer. Kepitu Restaurant focuses on Balinese and Indonesian flavours, while Wanna Gangga is designed as a relaxed scenic venue and Fujin Teppanyaki brings a Japanese dining concept to East Bali.

The wellness offer is led by Serayu Wellness, with treatments and experiences drawing on Balinese traditions.

Resident manager Wahyu Gunadi said the opening marked a new chapter for The Kayon Hotels & Resorts and for tourism in East Bali, adding that the property was designed to connect guests with Karangasem’s culture, nature and hospitality.

The launch adds another high-end stay option in a part of Bali that is often marketed around heritage sites, landscape and slower travel rather than the island’s more heavily developed southern resort zones.
