Wego and Spain’s Turespaña partner to promote summer tourism in Spain to MENA travellers

Wego, the largest online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced a partnership with Turespaña, Spain’s official tourism office, to promote the country’s summer offerings to travellers across the region.

The collaboration aims to position Spain as a leading summer destination for regional travellers seeking experiences that combine relaxation, cultural immersion, world-class cuisine and memorable moments. Through targeted campaigns and destination storytelling, Wego and Turespaña will highlight Spain’s iconic cities, Mediterranean coastlines, island retreats and local communities.

The campaign will also spotlight Spain’s culinary heritage, summer festivals, coastal towns and lesser-known regions, encouraging travellers to connect with local traditions and explore destinations away from the busiest tourist routes.

“Spain continues to be one of the most sought-after destinations for MENA travellers, offering an exceptional combination of culture, leisure, gastronomy, and natural beauty,” said Mamoun Hmidan, Chief Business Officer at Wego. “Through our partnership with Turespaña, we aim to inspire travellers to explore the many dimensions of Spain and discover experiences that resonate with their individual travel interests.” — PR Newswire, June 18

Carlos Ruiz González, Director of Turespaña for the GCC, said: “Spain offers travelers an incredible diversity of experiences, from cultural landmarks and culinary traditions to beautiful coastlines and authentic local communities.” He added that the partnership aligns with Turespaña’s latest marketing campaign, “Think you know Spain? Think again.” — PR Newswire, June 18

Spain remains one of the world’s most visited countries, consistently welcoming more than 90mn international tourists annually, with visitor arrivals traditionally peaking between June and September.

The campaign is expected to encourage both first-time visitors and repeat travellers to explore a broader range of Spanish destinations beyond Barcelona and Madrid, helping distribute tourism across more regions.
