Wizz Air (WIZZ) is launching two new routes connecting Central and Eastern Europe, with flights from Sofia to Berlin beginning on September 20 and a Prague-Poprad Tatry service launching on October 25.
The Sofia-Berlin route will operate four times weekly, while the Prague-Poprad Tatry service will run three times a week, on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Interez

The Poprad Tatry airport serves the High Tatras mountain region in northern Slovakia, a draw for ski tourists and outdoor travellers. The Prague connection gives the airport a direct link to one of Central Europe’s busiest aviation hubs for the first time under a Wizz Air operation.
The Sofia-Berlin service adds a fourth-weekly frequency to a corridor already served by other carriers, positioning the Budapest-headquartered ultra-low-cost carrier to compete for leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic between Bulgaria and Germany.
Wizz Air has been expanding aggressively from Sofia, allocating an eighth aircraft to the Bulgarian capital and launching five new direct routes for the 2026 summer season, increasing capacity by 81% compared to summer 2025. Wizz Air
“Sofia is establishing itself as one of our leading bases in Central and Eastern Europe, and with this expansion, we are not only increasing our capacity from Bulgaria but,” the airline said in a statement.
