Rocco Forte’s Milan hotel pairs with creative agency The Maptique on a two-hour route through the city’s archival fashion, jewellery and design scene.
The Carlton, a Rocco Forte hotel in Milan, has launched “The Milan Vintage Edit”, a guided itinerary through the city’s vintage fashion, design and fine jewellery scene aimed at collectors and heritage buyers.
Created for Rocco Forte Hotels guests by The Maptique, a Milan-based agency that designs high-end curated itineraries, the walking route takes in boutiques specialising in archival pieces, ateliers and historic addresses across the city. Each stop puts guests in front of the curators, artisans and archive owners behind them.

The route starts at the hotel and moves into the Quadrilatero della Moda, where a family-run jewellery maison opens its private archives of vintage jewels and rare antiques, some documented in high jewellery publications. It continues to a vintage fashion boutique known internationally for archival garments, pieces often borrowed by film and theatre productions, and ends at a Brera gallery dedicated to design, modern antiques and fine art.
The experience runs about two hours, takes up to 15 guests and is bookable through the hotel concierge, subject to availability. Rates start from €1,100, excluding VAT.
The Carlton sits in Milan’s fashion district with entrances on Via Senato and Via della Spiga, holding 71 rooms and suites, three dining venues under chef Fulvio Pierangelini and a 280 sqm Irene Forte Spa. It is one of 15 properties in the Rocco Forte Hotels collection founded by Sir Rocco Forte and Olga Polizzi in 1996.

Why it matters for the trade
The Edit is experiential inventory the concierge can sell, not just a room. At €1,100 a head before VAT, it is a margin product pitched at a guest who has already bought the suite and wants something money alone cannot usually open: a private archive, a named artisan, a door that is normally closed.
For luxury agents, it is a concrete reason to place a client at The Carlton over a neighbouring five-star. Milan is dense with comparable rooms. The differentiator is access, and access is what this packages.
It also reads as a template. Rocco Forte has 15 hotels in heritage cities, and a curated local itinerary built with a specialist agency is a model that travels. Expect more of them.
