Oman Air has signed a codeshare with Finnair, its first since joining oneworld, linking Oman with Helsinki via European gateways and Melbourne via Bangkok.

Oman Air has signed a codeshare agreement with Finnair, its first new codeshare since the Omani flag carrier joined the oneworld alliance in June 2025.

The partnership links Oman, Finland and Australia. Oman Air passengers can connect to Helsinki via London Heathrow, which the airline serves 11 times a week from its Muscat hub, and on Finnair-operated flights from Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Milan and Rome. Connections to Melbourne run via Bangkok, where Oman Air operates twice-daily flights.

Members of both airlines’ loyalty programmes will receive oneworld recognition, with tier benefits applied throughout the journey. The announcement did not give a start date or list the flight numbers that will carry each airline’s code.

“Our entry into the oneworld Alliance was an important milestone in Oman Air’s growth journey,” said Rohan Patell, Head of Partnerships and Alliances at Oman Air.

Fredrik Wildtgrube, Senior Vice President of Alliances and Airline Partnerships at Finnair, said: “We warmly welcome Oman Air customers on board our flights and offer them smooth connections to Helsinki.”

Oman Air said the agreement was an important step in translating its alliance membership into greater choice for passengers, and that it would create new opportunities to bring travellers to Oman.

The deal adds long-haul feed into the sultanate as it expands hotel supply ahead of the winter season, with 700 new rooms due by the end of the year. Low-cost carrier SalamAir has also been growing its network out of Muscat, adding a route to Erbil in August, while Egypt’s Orascom is pressing ahead with resort projects in Oman.
