FHS Africa will take place on April 28-29, 2027 in Kampala, moving from February to run alongside the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE), organiser The Bench said on October 23.

The hospitality investment summit at Speke Resort Munyonyo was originally scheduled for February 2-3. Pairing it with Uganda’s main tourism fair puts hotel investors and destination marketers in the same city in the same week.

The timing also falls ahead of AFCON 2027, the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament that Uganda will co-host with Kenya and Tanzania in mid-2027. Uganda hosted the 10th POATE at the same resort in May as it targets higher-spending visitors.

“Uganda has a compelling story to tell as a destination for tourism, hospitality development and investment,” said Matthew Weihs, chief development officer at The Bench.

Juliana Kagwa, chief executive of the Uganda Tourism Board, said aligning the two events “presents an exciting opportunity to strengthen the connection between tourism promotion and hospitality investment.”

The summit will bring together investors, hotel owners, operators, developers and tourism officials from across Africa and international markets. Organisers are pitching Uganda as a gateway to the wider East African region.

The Bench organises hospitality investment conferences, including FHS Africa, the Africa Hotel Investment Forum and the Future Hospitality Summit in Saudi Arabia.
