The Lux Collective has won seven titles at the 2026 World Culinary Awards for its resorts in Mauritius and Réunion, the hotel group said on October 23.
LUX* Grand Baie in Mauritius took five awards and LUX* Saint Gilles on Réunion won two. The resorts competed against restaurants from across the Indian Ocean, including the Maldives, Seychelles and Madagascar.
Dining gives Indian Ocean islands another draw for long-haul visitors, as Mauritius’ tourism sector watches the risk to its Dubai transit links and adds routes such as Ethiopian Airlines’ direct flights.
At LUX* Grand Baie, Ai KISU was named the Indian Ocean’s Best Restaurant, the Indian Ocean’s Best Fine Dining Experience and Mauritius’ Best Restaurant. Beach Rouge won Indian Ocean’s Best Brunch Venue and Bisou Rooftop Bar & Restaurant won Indian Ocean’s Best Rooftop Restaurant.
Orangine at LUX* Saint Gilles was named the Indian Ocean’s Best Hotel Restaurant and Réunion Island’s Best Hotel Restaurant. The 40-seat restaurant serves dinner only, by reservation.
“Seeing Ai KISU named the Indian Ocean’s best restaurant is a proud moment for LUX* Grand Baie, and Orangine’s recognition at LUX* Saint Gilles shows that the same standard carries across our portfolio,” said chief executive Olivier Chavy.
The World Culinary Awards are voted for by industry professionals and the public.
The Lux Collective is a hospitality group operating the LUX* and SALT brands, with resorts in Mauritius, Réunion and the Maldives among other destinations.
