Delta Air Lines will launch its first nonstop service between Los Angeles and Manila from March 28, 2027, becoming the only United States carrier to offer direct flights on the route, the airline said on July 18.
The new service will operate three times a week at launch before expanding to daily flights from June 7, 2027, according to Delta. Flights will be operated using the carrier’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering four cabin classes and access to Delta’s two Delta One Lounges at Los Angeles International Airport, including a newly opened location in Terminal 2.
“Customers traveling through Los Angeles continue to benefit from Delta’s investments in LAX, including an expanding Asia-Pacific network and the opening of our second Delta One Lounge,” said Jeff Arinder, Delta’s vice president of network planning.
Outbound flights will depart Los Angeles at 11:50pm, with return services leaving Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 7:40am, according to The Manila Times. The route adds to Delta’s recent expansion from LAX, which has included new service to Hong Kong, Melbourne and Shanghai, and builds on the carrier’s joint venture with Korean Air.
Delta previously served Manila through its former hub at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, discontinuing the service in 2020. The airline had signalled its intentions for the route as far back as October 2025, when an internal briefing referenced plans to add both Manila and Singapore to its network.
The route comes as the United States remains the top source market for tourist arrivals in the Philippines. The country welcomed nearly 3.2mn inbound visitors in the first half of 2026, with Americans accounting for more than 591,500 of those arrivals, according to the Philippine Department of Tourism.
