Eurowings will launch flights to Baghdad on 10 December, adding Iraq to a Middle East winter programme that also covers Dubai, Jeddah, Erbil, Beirut, Amman and Tel Aviv.

The Lufthansa Group carrier said the Baghdad route will operate twice weekly from both Berlin and Dusseldorf with the Boeing 737-8 MAX, a pairing that gives agents in Germany direct access to a market with a large diaspora and growing business travel demand.

For the winter 2026-27 season, Eurowings will fly daily from Berlin to Dubai, four times a week from Stuttgart and three times a week from Cologne/Bonn. Jeddah is served twice weekly from Berlin and Stuttgart and three times weekly from Cologne/Bonn. Erbil is linked to Berlin, Dusseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Hamburg, Hanover and Stuttgart, while Beirut has connections from Stockholm, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hanover, Prague and Salzburg. Amman is served twice weekly from Stuttgart, and Tel Aviv three times weekly from Dusseldorf.

The airline will also introduce its Premium BIZ Seat on 1 December on Dubai routes and selected flights to London Heathrow, Mallorca and Malaga. The Airbus A320neo layout has eight seats across the first two rows in a 2×2 configuration, with extra legroom and recline.

The expansion comes as Gulf carriers rebuild capacity; see our report on UAE full-service airline capacity for the wider picture.

The information is taken from the Lufthansa Group newsroom, published on 1 October.
