FlyArystan will launch direct flights between Almaty and Urgench from September 3, UzDaily reported on June 12, adding a new route between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’s Khorezm region.
The Kazakh low-cost carrier, a subsidiary of Air Astana, will operate the service twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, using Airbus A320 aircraft, according to AeroRoutes. Flight FS7881 will depart Almaty for Urgench, while the return sector operates as FS7882, with tickets on sale for travel dates through October 22.
One-way fares start from around KZT41,000 ($86.76), Travel And Tour World reported, with additional baggage, seat selection and other extras available under FlyArystan’s low-cost model.
Urgench serves as the main aviation gateway to the Khorezm region and Khiva, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its Silk Road architecture, located approximately 30 to 40 minutes from the airport by road.
Passengers will also be able to connect through Almaty to onward destinations in China and South Korea under a codeshare agreement with Air Astana, Travel And Tour World reported.
FlyArystan already operates flights between Almaty and Samarkand and between Astana and Tashkent, part of a wider expansion the carrier has pursued since entering service in 2019.
Ahead of the launch, FlyArystan has signed a memorandum of cooperation with tour operator Arda Khiva to offer three- and four-day travel packages combining airfare, transfers, excursions and accommodation, timed to the airline’s Thursday and Sunday operating days.
