Nomura Real Estate has opened reservations for Nohga Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, a 72-room Tokyo hotel opening in July 2027, the group said on October 15.

Every room at Nohga Shinjuku Gyoen will have a private balcony facing Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, one of Tokyo’s largest parks, which the developer says is a first in Japan based on research by Trending Future Research Institute. It will be the fourth hotel under Nomura’s Nohga lifestyle brand, after properties in Ueno, Akihabara and Kyoto, adding upscale stock in Shinjuku as Japan courts overseas visitors.

The hotel opens on July 15, 2027, a two-minute walk from Shinjuku-gyoemmae station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi line. Standard rooms of at least 30 sq m are split between Gardenside rooms facing the trees and Panorama rooms that also take in the city skyline. Two 70 sq m Gyoen suites on the 14th floor have balconies about 13 metres wide.

The ground floor will hold a bakery, café and bar lounge, with a wood-fired grill restaurant on the second floor and a rooftop bar on the 13th floor with a 25-metre terrace facing the garden. Guests will be offered walks, picnics, running, yoga and meditation in the park. Room rates were not disclosed.

Nohga Shinjuku Gyoen is being opened by Nomura Real Estate Development and Nomura Real Estate Hotels, units of Tokyo-listed Nomura Real Estate Holdings (TYO:3231). Nomura Real Estate Hotels also runs Nohga Hotel Ueno Tokyo, Nohga Hotel Akihabara Tokyo and Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto, as well as Hotel Niwa Tokyo, which traces its roots to a Japanese inn founded in 1935.
