Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) launched five-weekly nonstop flights between Zurich and Bengaluru, its third Indian destination after Delhi and Mumbai, the airline said on October 27. SWISS is owned by the Lufthansa Group (XETRA:LHA).

The route is the carrier’s first into southern India and adds a direct link to the country’s main technology hub. It builds on the Lufthansa Group’s India network, which the group said in May would run to more than 70 weekly flights across its airlines in the winter 2026 schedule.

“India is a market with enormous potential, and Bengaluru is one of Asia’s leading technology and innovation hubs,” said SWISS CEO Jens Fehlinger.

He described the route as a targeted investment in the growth of the airline’s long-haul network, aimed at business travellers and Swiss companies as well as leisure passengers.

The inaugural flight, LX140, left Zurich at 13:34 local time. The outbound service is scheduled to depart Zurich at 13:20 and reach Bengaluru at 02:55 the following day, with a flight time of about nine hours.

The return flight, LX141, leaves Bengaluru at 04:50 and lands in Zurich at 10:50, giving connections across the Lufthansa Group network in Europe and North America.

SWISS is the national airline of Switzerland, based at Zurich Airport. It serves 88 destinations from Zurich and Geneva in its winter 2026/27 schedule, which runs from October 25 to March 27.
