German travel technology company YGO has raised €8mn in a Series A funding round led by Ventech to expand its platform connecting travel suppliers with AI agents, the company announced on October 21.

Sake Bosch, Caesar Capital and a group of business angels also took part. YGO said it would use the money to develop its AI platform, grow sales and expand its customer base beyond its core markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The company’s orchestration layer structures suppliers’ product information so that AI models can understand their inventory, helping travel firms prepare for AI-driven discovery and agentic commerce without rebuilding their technology. Its customers include German leisure airline Condor, tour operator Bentour and GetAway Group.

“Travel is one of the last major industries still built on infrastructure that was never designed for an AI-first world,” said Julian Kögel, YGO’s co-founder and chief executive.

Nicolas Barthalon, a partner at Ventech, said YGO’s customers “are already re-owning their customer relationships with AI”.

YGO also said Ralf Usbeck, a founder of travel technology firms TravelTainment and Peakwork, is joining the company. YGO first launched in 2023 as a consumer travel business, YGO Trips, before shifting to supplier technology.

Travel companies are moving quickly to make their inventory visible to AI assistants, from Cloudbeds plugging US hotels into Meta’s Muse AI agent to Tourism Malaysia’s AI travel agent deal with Alipay+ and ALTOUR’s AI tool for corporate travel budgets.
