Lyft has launched European access inside its main app, allowing North American riders to use one account across the US, Canada and parts of Europe.
The company said the move means travellers can request rides in Europe without downloading a separate local app, creating a more familiar process for customers arriving from North America.
Lyft said the technology is based on a third-party marketplace model that connects its app with local ride-hailing supply in European cities. The launch is intended to simplify journeys for travellers while laying the groundwork for further international growth.
The update comes as mobility companies compete to keep users inside their own platforms when travellers move between regions. For frequent business and leisure travellers, app continuity has become part of the wider travel experience, alongside payments, loyalty and local transport access.
Lyft has historically focused on North America, but the European launch gives it a broader travel use case at a time when cross-border mobility and app-based transport remain central to urban tourism.
