Tenti Group, a boutique high-end tour company in Kyrgyzstan, will start motorcycle tours and Soviet legacy tours from 2027, founder Aibek told Emerging Travel.
The plans come as Kyrgyzstan’s access improves: Aibek said the country’s airlines are no longer on the European aviation blacklist and that the national carrier plans direct flights to Europe, while airport renovation and a new ski resort at Jyrgalan near Karakol are under way.
“Luckily, 95% of the country is covered in mountains, so in any direction you drive, you’ll always end up in the mountains,” Aibek said. Tenti organises expeditions and bespoke trips across the country.
“Starting next year, our Kyrgyz national airline is planning on launching direct flights to France and Germany, if I’m not mistaken, and hopefully to the UK,” he said.
The company’s model is to bring its own infrastructure to remote areas. “We understand that in the mountains, in remote areas, it’s going to be hard to find good food or infrastructure to travel comfortably,” Aibek said. “We have our own catering, we have our own fleet of off-road vehicles. We have our own mixologists.” Tenti plans to invest in mobile showers and bathrooms and high-end tents and yurts.
For 2027 it is buying a fleet of motorcycles and talking to manufacturers about partnerships. It has also bought a fleet of Soviet cars for Soviet legacy tours, with cooks “that worked and cooked for politicians and VIPs back in Soviet times” preparing meals for clients.
Aibek described the World Nomad Games as important for Kyrgyz tourism because the country’s culture, history and folklore are “all represented in one place” over three or four days. Emerging Travel covered the games in Kyrgyzstan bets on Nomad Games for $120mn tourism boost and global profile.
Emerging Travel also spoke to Sophie Ibbotson of Maximum Exposure at the World Nomad Games.
