US online travel firm Tripmasters has launched a collection of Europe holiday packages aimed at older travellers, pairing independent multi-destination itineraries with private chauffeured transfers and accessible hotels, the company said on August 14.
The Silver Spring, Maryland-based operator, founded in 1984, is pitching the range at retirees who want to travel independently but with the more complex logistics arranged in advance, positioning the product as an alternative to escorted group tours.
The launch follows survey findings cited by Yahoo Finance that 67% of Americans planning for or already in retirement named travel as their top retirement goal, with 51% saying they were more worried about running out of healthy years to travel than running out of money.
The packages offer private chauffeured transfers between selected destinations, fewer transport connections, accessible hotels with lifts and step-free access, and customisable stays, with itineraries buildable across up to 12 cities in a single booking.
“Retirement is the perfect time to finally explore the destinations you’ve always wanted to see, but planning a multi-destination trip can sometimes feel overwhelming,” said Rafael Checa, chief executive at Tripmasters.
Checa said the range was built for travellers who still wanted to discover new places but sought a simpler, more comfortable way to do so, with the operator handling logistics while leaving customers free to explore at their own pace.
Tripmasters, which sells customisable trips across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Canada and the Pacific, holds a 4.8-star average rating on Trustpilot and an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and carries IATA and ARC certification. It offers staggered payment plans through Affirm, PayPal and major cards.
Why it matters for the trade
The over-60s are among the fastest-growing and highest-spending segments in outbound travel, and the release lands on a clear commercial thesis: retirees have time, disposable income and a stated fear of running out of healthy years rather than money.
The product sits in the gap between rigid escorted coach tours and fully DIY booking, an underserved middle for agents whose older clients want independence without the friction of stations, connections and inaccessible hotels.
For trade partners, the accessibility spec (lifts, step-free access, chauffeured transfers) and staggered payment options are the sellable hooks, and the multi-city dynamic-packaging model points to where mainstream operators may push next as the demographic grows.
