Lufthansa Group will add ten intercontinental connections for summer 2027 in its largest network expansion since 2020, the airline group said on October 20.

The programme opens for booking on October 20, with additions across the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Lufthansa will launch Frankfurt–Columbus on May 5, operating three weekly flights with Boeing 787-9s featuring Allegris cabins. Munich–Phoenix follows on August 3, with three weekly Airbus A350-900 flights.

In Japan, daily Frankfurt–Tokyo Narita flights start on March 28. Frankfurt–Nagoya returns seasonally on March 29, with three weekly departures. Narita bookings opened earlier, on October 6.

The carrier will also make Frankfurt–Kuala Lumpur daily during summer 2027. The route is due to launch this month with five weekly flights.

Discover Airlines will add Frankfurt–Edmonton on June 1, flying three times weekly. It will also base a third A330-300 in Munich and increase Windhoek services to five weekly.

ITA Airways will start Rome–Caracas on March 30, with three weekly Airbus A330-900 flights. Brussels Airlines will add Cairo five times weekly and raise Kilimanjaro services to three weekly.

SWISS will retain five weekly Bengaluru flights through summer and increase Tokyo Narita frequencies. Austrian Airlines plans a seasonal Vienna–Beirut service from June to September, alongside more Asian flying.

Edelweiss will expand services to Windhoek, Kilimanjaro/Zanzibar, Punta Cana, Malé and Tampa. Eurowings will announce its summer schedule separately.

The Lufthansa Group expansion comes as its flagship airline renews its long-haul fleet, following the retirement of its final A340-600 on October 19.
