Lufthansa will start nonstop flights between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur on 25 October, operating five times weekly with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The route gives Malaysian and German agents the only nonstop service from Lufthansa Group home markets to Malaysia, and is the group’s fourth Southeast Asian destination after Bangkok, Singapore and Phuket.
Flight LH 704 departs Frankfurt at 9.30pm and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 4.40pm the next day. LH 705 leaves Kuala Lumpur at 11.55pm and lands in Frankfurt at 6am the next day. The three-class aircraft has 287 seats and features the new Allegris cabin product.
Jens Ritter, chief executive of Lufthansa Airlines, said the new nonstop connection and the Dreamliner create ideal conditions to participate in the growth in Southeast Asia.
Lufthansa announced the route in March and tickets are on sale. It follows other new links to the Malaysian capital; see our report on Gulf Air’s Bahrain-Kuala Lumpur flights.
