Aeroméxico (NYSE:AERO) carried 2.01mn passengers in October, up 0.8% year on year, as international growth offset a dip in domestic traffic, the airline said on November 4.
International flying is carrying the growth. The Mexico City-based carrier lifted international capacity, measured in available seat miles, by 7.3% while cutting domestic capacity by 1.9%. International demand, measured in revenue passenger miles, rose 8.3%, ahead of the capacity added.
Group load factor reached 88.2%, up 1.1 percentage points on October 2025. Domestic load factor rose 1.9 points to 86.8% and international load factor rose 0.7 points to 88.8%. Total capacity rose 4.5% to 3.02bn available seat miles, and demand rose 5.9% to 2.67bn revenue passenger miles.
International passengers increased 3.7% to 679,000. Domestic passengers fell 0.6% to 1.33mn.
Chief Executive Officer Andrés Conesa said the network continued to perform but warned that “elevated jet fuel prices continue to pressure costs”. He said the company remained focused on mitigating their impact.
Over the first 10 months of 2026, Aeroméxico carried 19.98mn passengers, down 2.1% year on year. Domestic passengers fell 3.6% to 12.99mn, while international passengers rose 0.6% to 6.98mn. Total capacity was up 1.1% over the period.
In October, the airline expanded its syndicated credit facility to $250mn with BBVA Mexico.
Aeroméxico’s main hub is Terminal 2 at Mexico City International Airport. A founding member of the SkyTeam alliance, it flies Boeing 787, Boeing 737 and Embraer 190 aircraft.
