Jordan launches Ahlan by Jordan digital tourism platform

Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board have launched an integrated digital platform called Ahlan by Jordan, working alongside tourism associations to support the sector amid a decline in regional travel.

The platform allows visitors to plan and book trips electronically through a single portal, offering an integrated booking experience intended to strengthen Jordan’s appeal in target markets, the Ministry said. It forms part of a wider package of measures the Ministry and JTB have introduced to stimulate demand for Jordan as a destination and support tourism businesses and workers.

Tour packages on the platform range from three to eight days, with prices starting from $180 per person, and include hotel accommodation, transport, tour guide services and entry tickets to archaeological sites. Every package includes an overnight stay in Petra, one of the destinations most affected by the recent downturn in visitor numbers, with the aim of increasing hotel nights and occupancy rates in the city.

In its first phase, the platform is targeting visitors from Arab citizens of Israel, the State of Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The Ministry and JTB said later phases would expand into new markets, particularly in Africa, to diversify Jordan’s source markets and reduce the sector’s exposure to regional fluctuations.

The Ministry described Ahlan by Jordan as the country’s first national platform dedicated to inbound tourism, part of a broader shift toward digital tools to widen access to Jordan’s tourism offering.
