IHG Hotels & Resorts said on November 2 it had opened Kimpton Al Rowda Doha, the brand’s first hotel in Qatar, with 223 rooms and 60 serviced residences.
The 283-key property is Kimpton’s second in the Middle East after Kimpton KAFD Riyadh, with Dubai and Jeddah next in line. IHG also added Abu Dhabi’s Yas World Resort, with more than 1,400 rooms, to its Vignette Collection on November 2.
The Doha hotel has five dining venues, including the August Zang bakery, all-day restaurant The Oat House, Australian-style pub The Surry and rooftop Italian Sprezzi. The Capital Grille steakhouse will open after a renovation.
It also has a rooftop infinity pool facing West Bay, a 24-hour fitness centre, Sandscapes Spa and Wellness, and the Sandalwood Ballroom with meeting rooms. The serviced residences have one, two or three bedrooms with full kitchens.
“Kimpton’s arrival in Qatar is an important moment for IHG in the Middle East,” said Haitham Mattar, managing director for India, Middle East and Africa at IHG.
“We are very happy to welcome Kimpton to Qatar and, more importantly, to make this hotel part of the Doha community,” said general manager Adnan Khan.
Pets stay free of charge. The hotel joins InterContinental, voco, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites properties in IHG’s Qatar portfolio.
