IHG Hotels & Resorts has added Abu Dhabi’s six-hotel Yas World Resort, with more than 1,400 rooms, to its Vignette Collection, the group said on November 2.

The resort, developed by Aldar and previously known as Yas Plaza Hotels, is now the largest Vignette Collection hotel in the world. IHG and Aldar agreed in September 2024 to combine the six hotels into one resort, then announced under the name Straylight Yas.

The relaunch puts a large branded room block on Yas Island, which Miral and Etihad Rail have linked to the national rail network with a free shuttle. IHG brought its Noted Collection brand to the Middle East with a Riyadh signing in August.

Each hotel has its own setting. Verde looks out over mangroves, Vista over the bay, Pulse over the motorsport circuit, Horizon over the marina and Fairway over the golf course. Haven is aimed at longer stays.

The resort has 21 restaurants and bars, six swimming pools, three spas and three kids’ clubs, plus a private shoreline called Cyan Beach. IHG One Rewards members can use the programme across all six hotels.

“Welcoming Yas World Resort into Vignette Collection marks a significant addition to IHG’s growing luxury and lifestyle portfolio across the region, and a strong reflection of the ambition shaping tourism in Abu Dhabi,” said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Kapil Aggarwal, CEO of Aldar Hospitality, said the resort “marks an important milestone in Aldar’s hospitality transformation”.

IHG has more than 6,000 open hotels in more than 100 countries.
