Red Sea Global (RSG) has opened Nammos Resort AMAALA, the first resort hotel from the Mykonos-born lifestyle brand and the sixth property to begin operating at the developer’s ultra-luxury wellness destination on Saudi Arabia’s north-western Red Sea coast.
For the travel trade the opening is another marker in one of the fastest hotel roll-outs in the Gulf: AMAALA is being built out to nine resorts and more than 1,600 rooms, and RSG expects the destination to contribute about SAR11bn ($3bn) to Saudi GDP and create up to 50,000 jobs once complete, part of the Vision 2030 drive to turn the kingdom into a luxury tourism market and diversify away from oil.
Located at Triple Bay and designed by Foster + Partners, the resort has 110 keys and 20 private residences, blending Cycladic design with Saudi coastal influences. Its centrepiece is a Nammos Beach Club set on a private island reached by boardwalk or jetty, extending the beach-club format that made the brand’s name on Mykonos into a full resort offering for the first time.
Nammos chief executive Carolyn Turnbull said the opening marked a new chapter for the brand, describing it as a reimagining of its dining, hospitality and social identity as a complete resort rather than a single venue. Group CEO John Pagano said the addition reinforced RSG’s aim to build one of the world’s leading luxury lifestyle and wellness destinations.
The resort adds a Nammos Spa and a children’s club, and gives guests access to marine, sailing, equestrian and wellness activities across the wider destination. The accompanying Nammos Residences AMAALA comprises 20 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and a penthouse overlooking the marina, managed by the brand, part of a branded-residences model RSG is using across its portfolio to draw high-net-worth buyers alongside hotel guests.
Nammos is the latest in a run of openings at AMAALA, which welcomed its first guests earlier in 2026 with the Four Seasons Resort and Residences at Triple Bay, followed by Six Senses and Equinox properties. RSG said three further resorts would open in the coming months, alongside more branded residences, wellness facilities, marinas, retail and dining.
The developer, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, also operates The Red Sea destination, which began welcoming guests in 2023, and Thuwal Private Retreat, which opened in 2024. Access to AMAALA runs mainly through Red Sea International Airport, with the refurbished Al Wajh International Airport, reopened in May 2026, adding connectivity to the wider region.
