The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) will exhibit with 33 tourism businesses at World Travel Market (WTM) London on November 3-5, the board said on October 28.
The board is using the ExCeL London show to sell Nepal beyond trekking and mountaineering. Its pitch leads with Nepal Wellness Year 2027, a national campaign built around yoga and meditation retreats.
The delegation includes trekking specialists, tour companies, hotels and an airline. Named participants include Buddha Air, The Begnas Lake Resort & Villas, Rupakot Resort, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, Kora Tours and Responsible Treks, alongside locally based expedition providers and travel agencies. The pavilion is at Stand N8-530.
The pitch covers Lumbini, traditionally recognised as the birthplace of the Buddha, and the heritage sites of the Kathmandu Valley. It also features community-led tourism and wildlife conservation, including rhinoceros anti-poaching work and the recovery of wild tiger numbers. The active offer runs from trekking and high-altitude running to mountain biking and white-water rafting.
Hikmat Singh Ayer, the board’s officiating chief executive, said the aim was to create travel opportunities that empower local communities while protecting Nepal’s natural and cultural heritage.
Gulf access to western Nepal has improved since flydubai opened scheduled flights to Pokhara.
The board said recent flash flooding in the Langtang area and along the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river corridors caused deaths and damage, including in parts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. It said Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini and the Annapurna and Everest regions remain operational, subject to local conditions and travel advisories.
