IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a 156-room Holiday Inn in Naya Raipur, the planned capital of India’s Chhattisgarh state, the group said on October 27.
The management agreement with Entry Point Hotels & Resorts takes IHG into a Tier-2 market the release describes as moving beyond its industrial base towards administrative and technology work. IHG has 53 open hotels in India across seven brands, with 110 more due to open in the next three to five years.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are delighted to partner with Entry Point Hotels & Resorts Private Limited.”
Arun Kumar Goyal of Entry Point Hotels & Resorts spoke of “creating a hotel that brings an international hospitality experience to the city”.
The hotel is targeted to open in the first quarter of 2031. It sits in Sector 24, close to the state secretariat, the legislative assembly and Swami Vivekananda Airport.
Plans include 16 suites, a 117-seat all-day restaurant, a 40-seat bar and a 40-seat lobby lounge. Meeting space totals about 942 sq m across four venues, including a 715 sq m divisible ballroom.
The signing follows IHG’s Crowne Plaza Hyderabad Shamshabad Airport Road deal, announced on October 26, and its Noted Collection signing in Riyadh.
The hotel will also have a swimming pool and fitness centre.
