Andaz Lisbon, the first Andaz hotel in Portugal for Hyatt (NYSE:H), has won three World Luxury Hotel Awards seven months after opening, the hotel said in October.
The 170-room hotel in the Baixa district, which opened in March, was named Best Luxury Lifestyle Hotel in Portugal, Best Luxury Art Hotel in Southern Europe and Best Luxury New Hotel in Southern Europe. The awards are decided by public voting and were presented at a gala ceremony this week.
“Recognition by the Luxury Hotel Awards, not just once but three times, is a proud moment for our team,” said Cajetan Araújo, general manager of Andaz Lisbon.
The hotel overlooks the Praça do Comércio and the Tagus waterfront. Its rooftop restaurant and terrace, Luzzi, draws on Portugal’s influence on global cuisine, while Andaz Lounge serves reworked Portuguese classics inspired by Lisbon’s street kiosks.
Guests also have a gym and in-room spa treatments.
Andaz is Hyatt’s lifestyle hotel brand, with hotels designed to reflect the culture of their neighbourhoods.
