Hyatt (NYSE:H) has signed four hotels in North India with Saraca Hotels & Resorts, introducing its Unscripted by Hyatt brand to India, the company said on October 30.

Two are existing Saraca properties converting to Unscripted, Hyatt’s collection brand for independent hotels: the 41-room Saraca Hotel Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and the 44-key Saraca Resort & Spa Corbett in Uttarakhand. Two new hotels are planned near Jim Corbett National Park, taking the package to about 266 keys. The deal comes days after Hyatt signed two Hyatt Regency hotels in Bengaluru.

“India remains one of Hyatt’s most important growth markets globally, and we continue to see strong opportunities in destinations that offer distinctive experiences and a deep connection to culture and community,” said Vikas Chawla, President, India and Southwest Asia at Hyatt.

The larger new-build is a Destination by Hyatt resort on about 20 acres, with close to 111 villas, suites and residences plus dedicated event spaces. Hyatt Place Jim Corbett Mohaan is expected to have 70 rooms and meeting space.

Saraca Resort & Spa Corbett sits on nine acres on the edge of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Saraca Hotel Lucknow is on Mall Avenue in the city centre.

“Hyatt’s global reach and commitment to genuine care make them the ideal hospitality company to work with as we bring our properties to a wider audience while preserving the authenticity that has always defined Saraca,” said Mohammad Abdullah, Founder of Saraca Hotels & Resorts.

Hyatt’s portfolio included more than 1,500 hotels and all-inclusive properties in 84 countries at September 30.
