Vietnam Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding with APG Inc and renewed its general sales agent (GSA) agreement in Belgium, as traffic between the two countries surged, the airline said on October 24.

Passenger movements between Vietnam and Belgium reached about 45,000 in the first eight months of 2026, up 41% year-on-year. Hanoi–Brussels traffic rose 76% to around 23,000, while Ho Chi Minh City–Brussels climbed 21% to about 17,000.

Vietnam has been gaining ground as a long-haul destination, posting some of the strongest gains in the WEF’s 2026 tourism development index.

The MoU was exchanged at the Vietnam–Europe Business Roundtable in Brussels. Under the deal, APG will work with the airline to develop the Belgian market and strengthen its brand presence, while continuing as its local representative.

Belgian travellers are increasingly looking beyond Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc, the airline said.

Vietnam Airlines operates 12 nonstop routes linking Vietnam with eight hubs in seven European countries, with 46 to 48 flights a week. Belgian travellers connect through its European gateways.

“Our continued partnership with APG Inc will help us build a stronger presence in Belgium and the wider European market,” said Dang Ngoc Hoa, chairman of Vietnam Airlines.

APG Inc has more than 130 offices in over 170 countries and works with more than 200 airlines. Vietnam Airlines is Vietnam’s national carrier and a member of the SkyTeam alliance.
